EQ 2-3.2.3-4 Power Level Guide

26 Apr

Permafrost (44-47)
At 44 move to PF in Everfrost. Start off by killing giants in the first outside area
and also the golems on the bottom floors. At 46 you can move up towards the top of PF
and start killing the higher level giants there. There are also quite a few named giants up
in the upper area you can kill for good exp and loot.

Sol Eye (47-50)
Go to Sol Eye for your last dungeon. When you first enter the zone head down
the path a bit and you should see flying lizard mobs named Queztols. These mobs are
super super easy and they die very fast for some reason. Chain pull these mobs until
you hit 49, kill the miners around the area while you are waiting for respawns. You could
even come here as early as 44 and skip PF altogether if you choose. Once you hit 49
fight your way deep down into the zone and kill the giants there until you hit 50.

4. Equipment
4.1. Crafted

Regular crafted equipment is pretty decent for low levels, but once you start
hitting T4 and T5 you should start aiming for rare armor and eventually be in full ebon or
better by level 50. Sometimes it’s hard to find good armor at lower levels and I suggest
grabbing some carbonite armor at level 20, esp. if you didn’t do the armor quests. At
level 30 there are quite a few quest and decent drops for armor so you won’t have to rely
on crafted armor as much. If you have the money, feysteel for certain pieces are still
good though, such as gloves, body, and boots. Just look for the pieces that have the
most agi, str, and sta.
Jewelery on the other hand is very good at all levels, esp. because of the stat
imbues jewelers can put on rings now. One thing to note is that you don’t have to
actually wear the jeweler to get use out of the stat imbues. You can equip the crafted
rings and put your stat buff on, then take them off if you have better rings to wear. The
rare crafted rings are very good though if you can afford them; usually people use the
rare gems to make adept3’s first though since this is more worthwhile. As far as the
other slots are concerned, gold jewelery at T3 is some of the best you can buy. Once
you start getting into the 30s and 40s though you’ll probably be finding some better
dropped and quested jewelery. Always get imbued str, sta, and agi rings though for the
extra stat boosts.
Regular crafted weapons on the other hand aren’t really anything special. If you
want a good weapon make rare imbued ones; usually dropped and quested weapons
are better than just regular crafted ones. Also try not to go for the super low delay dual
wields because they don’t get as much benefit from haste and their proc rate is also
lower. I usually try to go with 1.5-1.7 delay weapons and the leafblades with 2.0+ delay
are good when you hit level 50 and have alot of haste on raids.
Besides your main equipment, there are also a few good things from the other
crafts that you should get for your brigand. First off get a imbued bow, preferbly rare
since wood is generally pretty cheap. Second get either str or agi hex dolls from tailors
depending on which stat you need more. Finally you need to either buy poisons from the
vendor or more preferbly find an alchemist who can make you rare or even just regular
crafted posions.

Wailing Caves (10-15)
Again level 1-10 is the same as before because this is the fastest way to do it.
Once you hit 10 go straight to Wailing Caves. Start by grinding on the skeletons in the
front area until level 12. Then continue to move down into WC to fight harder mobs until
you hit level 15.
Fallen Gates (15-22)
Get out of WC at level 15 and complete your FG access quest. If you have a
group you can do this in under 30 min at level 15. When you get into FG follow the path
and make all left turns. This will eventually bring you past a broken down market place,
past a waterfall/lake area, and into a 2nd market place. This is the area you want to stay
at until level 18. You can also go through a cave area on the left side of this market
place that has slugs and frogs which are easy to kill and give good exp. At level 18 you
can go back to the lake area and take the right path. This will lead you deeper into the
dungeon and has mobs that you should level on (going deeper as you need to) until you
hit level 22.

23 Apr

Thundering Steppes (22-27)
Go straight to giants. Fight the easier level 25-26 giants first then move up to the
Goliaths and pit with the groups of giants at 25. You can also head over and do gnolls if
the giants are too crowded. Just fight here all the way until you hit 27.

Ruins of Varsoon (27-32)
Once you hit 27 go to Ruins of Varsoon and fight your way down to the golems.
From 27-30 fight the golems wandering the hallways as well as skeletons in the various
rooms. When you hit 30 go to the golem camp spot I mentioned in the grouping guide
and fight the level 32-34 golems with the occassional named until you hit 32.

Runnyeye (32-37)
With your auto access to EL, go to the Runnyeye dungeon and fight your way up
to the golems and pitboars. Fight here until 35 and then start heading deeper to the eyes
and higher level goblins until you hit 37.

Rivervale (37-41)
From 37-38 fight the blightrats just up the left on the road from the entrance.
Once you hit 38 you can go fight at the farm and pull the scarecrows and lamias until
you hit 39. From 39-41 go to the very back of RV and kill nightbloods and the higher
level lamias. Lamias are very good exp as they die extremely fast but still give about the
same exp as nightbloods.

Cazic-Thule (41-44)
When you hit 41 head over to Cazic-Thule in Ferrott. Start by heading up the
stairs directly in front of the entrance and camping by the temple while you pull spiders,
slimes, and lizardmen. Once you hit 43 you can move down into the temple and fight the
higher level lizardmen and various other mobs inside the temple.

3.2.3. Power Level Guide

This is a short little guide that will give you the best locations if you just want to
grind exp and power level to 50. These locations are also the easiest to get groups in.
Just remember that these are ideal circumstances with people who know what they are
doing and camp locations that are open. First off, collection quests are a huge amount of
exp at lower levels. There are 85+ collection quests ingame which all give some
experience. I have personally given one of my alts about 50 of these collection quests
and went from level 10 – 17 without ever leaving town. This will cost you quite a bit of
money if you buy all of the collections, but if you have the money you can see how fast
this can get through the lower levels.

EQ 2-3.2.2.-3 Zone Guide

21 Apr

Runnyeye (32-38) / Bloodlines: Tombs of Night (30-35) / Nektropos Castle (30-35)
Once you hit 32ish in RoV most people will head to EL and get a group for
Runnyeye (RE). This zone is extremely popular and very easy to get to, it is also a huge
zone and has a large range of mobs. Like I mentioned earlier, EL is a very friendly zone
and most people kill stuff here while LFG, which makes this the easiest place to get
groups. As far as RE is concerned, when you first start leveling in this zone the golems
and boars are the best camp. To get here you just follow the path through all the solo
mobs, go across the first bridge and through the forge room, then you’ll come to a
branching pathway. If you continue straight you’ll reach a large room with a sludge
fountain, this is the golem room. If you head right at the branch it will lead to the boar
room. Not only is it great exp running in between the 2 rooms clearing mobs, but named
mobs can also spawn in each room which have a decent chance of dropping master
chests. If this area is too crowded, just continue straight on the pathway past the golem
room to reach another boar room with level 35-38 mobs. Once you get around level 34
you can start heading deeper into RE. The two paths that branch left past the golem
room lead deeper into the dungeon and will offer some higher level goblins and eyes. If
you continue down the first left path and make a left at the first T intersection, you’ll
reach a room with a bunch of Runnyeye miners which are decent exp and almost always
have a named in one of the groups. Besides this, just continue exploring deep into RE
and getting exp along the way. This zone is great if you like dungeon crawls, and there
are so many places to go that you can level here for quite a while.
If you happen to get a dedicated group or are leveling with a group of friends,
there are also a couple of zones which are less popular for pickup groups. The first zone
is from the Bloodlines adventure pack which you can purchase seperately for $4.99. It’s
defianitly not a necessity to purchase this adventure pack but if you have it you might as
well use it. The first instanced zone where you will do 5-6 quests in is good for levels 30-
35. This is good because mobs don’t respawn until you leave the zone, and there’s no
competition from other groups since every group gets their own zone. If you can find a
group who wants to do this and has the adventure pack, I recommond going this route at
least for part of the time. Some pretty good loot can also drop from this zone and of
course there are quests and lots of named mobs.
The second choice you have is probably one of the most interesting and unique
zones in the entire game, Nektropos Castle. This zone is an instanced zone as well and
has a ton of quests, some interesting puzzles that you actually need to think about, and
also has a ton of good loot drops and a very high chance to drop master chests. Just a
note, when I went through Nek Castle on one of my alts my group got 3 master chests in
a few hours. Most zones you may not see a master chest the whole time you are
leveling there, so 3 masters in 5-6 hours is huge! Not only is this zone really fun and has
very good chest drops, but it is also a location that deals with 3 different heritage quests,
one of which is imperative for the scout. The 2 optional quests you can do for status are
Ghoulbane and Guise of the Deceiver, the third, important heritage quest for scouts in
this zone is called Hadden’s Earring which rewards you with the fishbone earring. This
piece of jewelery is one of the only earrings in the game that has both agi and sta on it,
plus it gives you the ability to breathe under water. I highly suggest you get up to the
point where you need to kill Lord Everling (the boss of Nek Castle) so you can update
the quest and finish it soon after. Overall, I suggest you complete this zone at least once
even if it’s with a pickup group. The zone itselfis rewarding and fun, and gives good exp
and loot as well. Note that you can only do this zone once a day because of it’s 18 hr
lockout timer, but it does take a good 4-6 hours to complete.

Rivervale (36-42) / Drafling Tower (40-45) / Cazic-Thule (38-46)
Once RE and Nek Castle start getting a little too low for you, it’s time to move
onto other zones. The most popular place to move after RE is Rivervale (RV) which is
also connected to EL. This zone is basically an outdoor dungeon, it’s not like the
overworld zones because it does not have a map, but it’s still in an outside area with
buildings and such that you can go into. Just like all the other zones RV has a ton of
quests associated with it. Some of the quests you need to speak halfling which you can
buy in one of the small subzones in freeport. I suggest going through all of these
subzones (Temple Streets, Longshadow, etc) and going to the scribe located on the
map and just buying all of the primers to learn most of the languages in the game. They
only cost 60sp and buy this level that should be pocket change. After you have learned
your languages and received your quests, it’s time to start leveling. If you feel like
completing your quests first just follow the walkthroughs on Ogaming and kill the stuff
you need to update them. If you want to just grind exp instead, a good camp is up a bit
on the left path from the entrance where all the blightrats are. Most people camp here
until level 38ish as the rats are good exp and drop some decent loot. Once you hit 38
you can move up the same path across the bridge and you will see a farm called
Shakey’s Farm. This is another good exp spot and occassionally the named scarecrow
49
EverQuest 2 Brigand Guide
Shakey will spawn which can drop some pretty decent loot or even a master chest.
Finally once you hit level 40 you can move back into the deepest parts of RV and kill
lamias and nightbloods. There is also a boot quest and the beginning of a heritage
quest, Heirophants Crook, which you should get that both require the death of 100
nightbloods. Just continue killing nightbloods and lamias until level 42ish which should
be pretty fast depending on how good your group is. Because lamias are caster mobs
they die very fast and you can plow through them for large amounts of exp.
If you feel like completing the Heirophants Crook quest (called By Hook or By…)
or want to explore another interesting instanced dungeon, then you can head over to a
dungeon in RV called Draflings Tower. If you ever played EQ1 you should know what
bixies are, this zone is the only place in EQ2 where you can fight bixies. The first thing
you must do is complete a multi-step quest starting from Bindo Halfbottom in Fool’s
Gold. If you don’t have it already, grab the quest and start working on it, the time it takes
is directly dependent on whether the 3 named nightbloods you need are up or not. All
three can be found around the waterfall area which is packed with nightbloods; as a
scout you can track to see if these named are up. Finally once you have completed this
quest you get access to Drafling Tower as well as a very good dagger or bracelet. Now
for the actual Drafling Tower, the path is pretty linear with a few branching paths which
lead to dead ends. Eventually though you will reach the boss room of the tower which
has a % chance to spawn the bixie queen. No one has determined whether their is a
way to spawn the queen 100% of the time, but it’s pretty safe to say that it’s all random
at this point. If the queen is up you have the chance to get some good loot, if not then
just escape from the zone and you can always go back through it. This is one of the only
instanced zones that doesn’t have a re-entry timer.
The last choice you have in this level range is a zone that is connected to Ferrott
called Cazic-Thule (CT). This is a medium sized zone that takes place inside and on top
of a huge temple. There are alot of kill quests in this zone that give good exp and gold.
When you first start out leveling in CT the spiders, slimes, golems, and lizards in the
front and upper area are good to start out with. Once you start getting closer to the mid
40s you can move into the actual temple and start working your way down for tougher
mobs. This zone is pretty simple and all of the paths lead down into the very bottom of
the temple. There is also a quest, The Heart of Fear, which takes quite a while to
complete and will eventually give you access to an instanced zone at the very bottom of
CT. This quest will reward you with a very nice dagger that you can use even when you
50
EverQuest 2 Brigand Guide
hit level 50. Overall nothing too tricky with this zone, it is another very popular zone for
players after they leave RV and you will find a large portion of pickup groups level here.

EQ 2-3.2.2.-2 Zone Guide

Nek Forest (20-27) / Thundering Steppes (20-27) / Ruins of Varsoon (27-32)
Once you hit level 20 a few new options open up to you. First off you can go back
to East FP and grab your first armor quest from Dyric Pyre in the bow shop. This will
require you to kill fallen guardians around the Ruins of Valmarr which I suggested earlier
as an exp spot. Just kill these and then the named at the Crossroads for your first armor
piece and to move on to quest two. Now for armor quest two and three you will need to
kill mobs in Fallen Gate. This is why I suggested getting the access quest done (which
you can solo at level 20) and also staying in FG until level 21-22. Once you finish the
next two armor quests its on to armor quest four, which is a huge pain btw.
Now that the game has been out for a while it may be very hard to find a group to
get your armor quest four done, and quest five and six aren’t much easier. The reason
it’s so hard to complete armor quest four is because the location of the mobs are in a
zone called Edgewater Drains. If you have a knowledgable group who knows what their
doing this zone can actually be really good, but this zone can also lead to tons of deaths
and great disaster. The problem with this zone is it is very narrow because the location is
in the sewers under Thieves Way, and it also has alot of mobs in close proximity which
can cause mobs to add very easily. Because it is out of the way of most leveling
locations most people don’t even bother to go look for a group there either. For these
reasons I suggest just skipping armor quest 4-6 and just buying some crafted or dropped
armor.
After you have gotten these armor quests out of the way you can move on to TS
or Nek for some more grouping fun. When you first start out you can find some double
up skeletons around the dead river basin in the giants area and also just west of the
entrance into Ruins of Varsoon (RoV). Once you hit lvl 22-23 you can move on to giants
which will be your primary exp spot up until level 26-27. These giants range from levels
26-28 and give very good exp for the level. If you choose you can also fight giants in Nek
forest at the very north part of the map but it’s a pain to get their compared to the TS
giant area. Most people will choose to stay in TS as it is more player friendly and most
people end up LFG here anyways so it’s far easier to get a group. At level 25 you can
also do the Zek and EL access quests which will give you a bit of exp and a change of
pace.
You can reach level 27 off of the giants and gnolls in the area on the far south
southwest of the map. After this the best area to level at is RoV which is a dungeon
located in TS. The golems in here are by far the best exp up to this point. To get to them
you want to go left at the first fork and you will see two tunnels that you can enter. They
both lead to the same area but if you can jump over into the right one its faster (note that
if you run along the edge there is an invisible path you can run on making the jump
easy). Now just follow the path straight, through a big open room with a raised platform
and skeletons, and keep following the path until you reach an area that has a change of
scenery and looks like an actual room rather than a cave. After this room you will find
roaming golems in the hallways which are good exp at level 27. As you continue to level
off of the roaming golems and skeletons in the area you can move in deeper. At about
level 30 you can go to a very very good golem camp that is usually taken by other
groups unless you get lucky. If you keep heading right at all of the turns, except the one
that you need to open a door to get through (head left here), you will soon reach a path
that goes up some stairs and has two rooms on either side with stairs leading down. The
room on the right hand side with single double up golems inside is the room you want.
You can camp on the stairs and have the tank pull from inside of the room. One more
thing to remember is to get the Golem: L&L book from the tailor room and also the quest
to kill 30 golems for some nice exp and a very good bracelet (locs on Ogaming).

EQ 2-3.2.2.-1Zone Guide

19 Apr

Level 1-10
These 10 levels will be the same as the solo guide. It’s extremely easy to solo at
low levels and most of the mobs are solo anyways. Plus you can get a ton of exp from
quests and you don’t even have to stray far from town.
Commonlands (10-20) / Wailing Caves (10-15) / Fallen Gate (15-22)
At level 10 you can finally dip you feet in some of the grouping content. Since
Sony has made most of the outside zones solo content you will primarily be grouping in
dungeons. Your first dungeon is Wailing Caves and will give you a good taste of
grouping. Before going in, make sure to get the quest to kill undead orcs from the East
Nomad Camp. Just inside the Wailing Caves entrance you can grab another quest to kill
the skeleton orcs all around the entrance area. There are also a few other quests you
can grab in Freeport and Commonlands which are related to Wailing Caves; you can
look them up on Ogaming. Just like soloing, you should grab as many quests as you can
for the extra exp and rewards. Overall, Wailing Caves is a pretty linear dungeon with a
few rooms to explore. About halfway through the dungeon you will find a locked door
with a named mob possibly in front of it. This mob drops two keys which are needed to
open the door. If the named is not up, his spawn timer is about two hours and you need
to kill him if you want to go deeper in the dungeon. Besides this, there’s nothing too
tricky about this dungeon and you should spend your time here until level 14-15.
Once you hit level 15 you can do a few things as far as exp goes. First you can
complete the Fallen Gates access quest to get access to a very good dungeon which
also holds mobs for two of you level 20 armor quests. I highly recommend getting this
access quest finished as it is not too hard and FG will be a very good area to level. If for
some reason you cannot find a group to complete FG access or you just don’t want to go
in there, there are also a couple locations in Commonlands with group mobs. The first
area is at Zarvonn’s Tower just west of the Nektulos Griffin Station. In this area you will
find groups of skeletons that you can fight with a group. If you want to go down to the
Ruins of Valmarr there are also groups of skeletons which you can kill. Around level 18
these outside areas will start to get alot slower though in terms of exp, which is why I
suggest getting your FG access and staying their until 21-22.
